Best Paper Award at ER2025!
Our full paper "Group modelling as discourse: games, play, ontologies and the emergence of shared understandings." won the best paper award (our first!) at The 44th International Conference on Conceptual Modeling (ER2025), in Poitiers, France. What a surprise and an honor.

Paper Published at FOIS2025!
Quite a few papers coming out this year, the result of 2024's concentrated work begun as Visiting Scholar at University of Valencia, Valencian Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence (VRAIN). This one "Challenged by vulnerabilities: a focus on climate change and disaster risk conceptualisations, semantics, and debates", co-authored with Greta Adamo, Anna Sperotto and Alesandro Mosca, was presented and published in the proceedings of the Formal Ontologies in Information Systems Conference FOIS2025, in Catania, Italy.

Paper Published at RCIS2025!
Another paper "Risk Response an adversarial discourse game and group modelling tool", co-authored with Dr. Greta Adamo, was presented at the Risk Response an adversarial discourse game and group modelling tool" was presented at 2025 International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science in Seville, Spain.
Again, the paper can be found on my publications page.
Paper Published at ICSE GAS 2025!
My paper "Type Token: a competitive, collaborative modelling game for ontology education and development", co-authored with Dr. Greta Adamo, was presented at the 9th International Workshop on Games and Software Engineering (GAS 2025) co-hosted with the 47th International Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE2025) in Ottawa, Canada. This is the first in a series of publications presenting #ontologygames for group modelling.
There is a link to this paper on my publications page.
Looking forward to 2025! Since September 2024 I joined the Valencian Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence (VRAIN) at Universitat Polytecnico Valencia in Spain as a Visiting Scholar.
Update December 2024: Working together with colleagues and students at VRAIN, I have been developing a Spanish-language version of my participant-authored role-playing game Mind the Gap.
This game explores gender roles and identities in STEM education and careers, addressing the UN's SDG4 Quality Education and SDG5 Gender Equality. More information is available in my design research portfolio. On November 25 we ran a gameplay workshop, translating the original 21 seed cards that started the game (back in 2017). With this new version of the game, we will be able to continue building the collective narrative with colleagues and students in Spain, in Central- and South America!

Update Sept 2024: An updated Interaction Design Portfolio is available for download
